“In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you.”

—Deepak Chopra

Despite being practiced for thousands of years, meditation has recently gained popularity + traction among the masses. This seemingly simple practice has been scientifically proven to not just reduce stress, but add to one’s resiliency to it, reduce anxiety, pain, and inflammation, improve sleep quality, focus + attention, mental + emotional health, and generate more awareness, compassion, and kindness for self + others.

Meditation—defined simply as “thought contemplation” or “mental exercise”—is a rather large umbrella that covers many practices meant to train your mind to focus and help redirect your thoughts. Bio-diversity can therefore be respected, as you can choose whether you want to practice silent, guided, or with additional sound healing, a dynamic, active, or passive style, with intentions of reflection + insight to relaxation + sleep.

I believe meditation is the internal educational component to a solid foundation of a holistic, well-balanced life. Consistent practice has helped me reconnect mind, body + soul, feel + heal my pain points, simultaneously explore the inner workings of my psyche and heart center, and has created the space in my mental + emotional life to make mindful choices from a place of embodied presence instead of unconscious knee-jerk reactions. I live a more intentional, aligned, fulfilling life thanks to integrating meditation—both in personal practice and through shared guidance.

HAPI Drum

I came across my first little orange steel tongue drum in a tiny local shop in Bali where I would often visit Adi, the shop owner, to sit and play instruments with him. I was so taken by how soothing the sounds of the drum were, that I bought it and started broadcasting videos of my intuitive practices which people used as background for their personal meditations.

I later upgraded to this beautiful HAPI (Hand Activated Percussion Instrument) Aura drum—high quality sounds from the A minor pentatonic scale being the perfect peaceful accompaniment during savasana and facilitated sound meditations.

Singing Bowls

Original singing bowls date back thousands of years and are believed to help fine-tune the vibration of our cells, bringing us into deeper alpha and theta brain wave patterning, balanced cellular homeostatic frequency, and greater receptivity to relaxation, clarity, insight, and health.

The first singing bowl in my collection, a beautifully painted alloy bowl that produces an A note related to the third eye chakra, was bought from a shop in Bali. When my friend, Made, was working, I would stop in and we would talk and play with the many bowls that decorated the shop. The other three I currently have are quartz crystal singing bowls: heart chakra, F note, throat chakra, G note and crown chakra, B note, rounding out healing vibes for the upper four chakras.

“The heart is a thousand stringed instrument that can only be tuned with love.”

Self Acceptance

IONA, NEW YORK

In this meditation, we gain a better sense of self by offering the things that take us out of balance to the violet flame of purification. Allow this practice to be an opportunity to return to your own truth even if—especially if—it looks different than anyone else’s; your acceptance of self is the only thing that matters.

Befriending Fear

Gay, Georgia

This meditation helps to reframe our relationship with fear—one of the ego’s many protective measures. We show it that leaning into the unknown from the heart-space better serves our growth, and we show ourselves that we have the power, control, choice, and support to actualize our purpose with fear tucked safely inside your heart space pocket.

Empowered Offering

SMALLWOOD, NEW YORK

This meditation moves through a tightening and release to get used to what the letting go process does and feels like physically. We then shift our attention from letting go to a state of empowered offering.
